DESCRIPTION: An arcade avoid-'em-up wrapped in an allegory about managing every day stresses.

Our lives are hard, and seemingly everything that comes our way fills up our ability to deal with it. Learn to acknowledge, recognize, avoid, and deal with oncoming stress in order to prevent exceeding your Stress CUPacity. There is a cost of not doing so.

DISCLAIMER: THIS GAME WAS SUBMITTED AS PART OF Brackey's Game Jam 2022.1 WITH THE THEME OF "It is not real." THE JAM TOOK PLACE OVER SEVEN DAYS. IT TOOK ME SIX DAYS TO COMPLETE THIS GAME.

INSTRUCTIONS: Use the arrow keys or WASD keys to move the green dot and avoid oncoming "stresses," depicted as shapes. Use the mouse to click menu buttons.

FEATURES: -Immersive Interaction The framing device is if you, yourself, are operating a computer terminal, enabling you to be completely immersed in the setting.

-A fast-paced arcade game loop. Learn how each obstacle behaves and use that knowledge to avoid them as they approach.

-Replayable score system. Try to keep your damage score as low as you can. Play again to do better with the experience you've gained, and post your scores in the comments.

KNOWN ISSUES:
1. Potential bugs. I didn't run into anything dramatic, but due to the nature of developing this alone in a very short amount of time, there's bound to be something that's weird.

2. Design/balance flaws. There are plenty of features that needed more time being tuned. As a result, there are very apparent design flaws that hurt gameplay. The gameplay loop is how I intended it, however, and it is completely playable.

3. Bad menu/UI/aesthetics. Again, due to the nature of the game jam timeframe, I had to prioritize maximizing the experience I intended to convey, and making the game aesthetically pleasing wasn't near the top of the list. What's there serves its purpose, but I wish I could've made it look better.

Cup half full! 0 people affected! No emotional damage was done! Just call depression and anxiety as being silliness, like my close ones call it. And you'll win!

All good. I'm fine. Thank you.

Filled my cup 8/10 but my stress affected 9 people. :(

Your Cup Filled: 8/10
Your Stress Has Affected: 7

Nice, I successfully affected the lives of 7 people. Not too shabby.
